Lens Information

To meet the vision requirements of golfers, the NYX Golf Vision System is available in 3 distinct lens series options; Traditional, Amber, and Gradient. Each of these lens series is made up of 3 optical grade, polycarbonate lenses that are designed to span the wide ranging conditions that golfers face. All of our lenses block 100% of harmful ultraviolet light. The different lens series options are designed to allow golfers to customize their NYX GVS to their particular vision requirements.

Lens Series Options

Traditional:	The Traditional Lens Series consists of the Deflector (dark gray), the Neutralizer (medium gray) and the Luminator (yellow). These lenses allow in 12%, 36%, and 87% of visible light respectively. Gray lenses transmit light evenly allowing the wearer to see colors as they naturally occur. Yellow lenses block a high percentage of blue light, increasing contrast in low or flat light. The Deflector is designed for bright, mid day conditions, the Neutralizer for partly cloudy days and for golfers that wear hats, and the Luminator for cloudy and low light conditions.
Amber:	The Amber Series consists of 3 amber (brown) tinted lenses possessing visible light transmission values of 12%, 36%, and 87% respectively. The Amber Series is designed for golfers that prefer a lens that blocks a high percentage of blue light. Blue light is at the dark end of the visible light spectrum and is the most difficult light to focus, especially as the eye ages. These lenses improve contrast by accentuating the brighter colors, especially green.
Gradient:	The Gradient Series consists of gray, amber, and clear gradient lenses. A gradient lens provides the glare protection of a darker lens with the visual clarity of a lighter lens by blocking more light across the top portion of the lens than in the viewing area. The gray gradient provides maximum glare control with minimal color shift. The amber gradient provides moderate glare control with contrast enhancement. The clear gradient provides minimal glare control with absolute clarity in the viewing area.

Lens Materials & Optics

All of our lenses are made of optical grade polycarbonate and are coated with a scratch resistant material. Polycarbonate has the highest impact resistance of the optical plastics and inherently blocks 100% of harmful ultraviolet light. Studies have indicated that exposure to ultraviolet light increases the onset of cataracts and other ocular diseases.

All of our lens styles utilize optically correct lenses, which effectively eliminate distortion across the normal viewing range of the player. We regularly test our lenses at an independent optical lab, and the results greatly exceed the ANSI optical guidelines. While meeting optical standards is important, the greatest testimony regarding the superior optics available in our lenses comes from the number of tour players that wear our glasses during tournament play. NYX is the number one sunglass on the LPGA and over 50 players from the 4 major professional tours regularly wear our sunglasses.

Frame Information

Our frames are made of Grilamid TR-90, a state of the art nylon derivative manufactured by EMS/American Grilon. This material is lightweight, flexible, and has amazing memory characteristics. Memory means that the frame will retain its original shape even after being stretched. Players can put the glasses on their hats and they will not stretch out. The temples and nosepieces are made of a special elastomer that grips securely to insure that the sunglasses do not move during the swing.

Style Information

Carbon:	Our Carbon sunglass features a charcoal gray frame and a classic, conservative lens shape. This style utilizes 6 base, polycarbonate lenses that deliver unsurpassed optics and complete protection from harmful ultraviolet light. The Carbon's 2 lens series options enable the golfer to adapt to any playing condition. This sunglass is available with prescription insert for golfer's that need vision correction.
Classic Competition:	Our Classic Competition is a dual lens sunglass that, as the name suggests, delivers classic lines in a cutting edge design. This style utilizes 10 base, optically correct polycarbonate lenses that offer complete protection from harmful ultraviolet light. This style is offered with 3 lens shapes. The lenses of the Lickliter signature series offer the greatest amount of coverage. Our Swept lens shape offers good coverage in a sleek, stylish design. Our sleek lens shape is great for smaller faces and women with high cheek bones. The Classic's 3 lens series options enable the golfer to adapt to any playing condition. This sunglass is available with prescription insert for golfer's that need vision correction.
Tour Shield:	Our Tour Shield is an advanced style featuring crystalline frames with co-injected temples. The co-injected temples grip the head firmly keeping the sunglasses dead still during the swing. This style utilizes 6 base, polycarbonate lenses from France that deliver unsurpassed optics and complete protection from harmful ultraviolet light. The Tour Shield's 3 lens series options enable the golfer to adapt to any playing condition. This sunglass is available with prescription insert for golfer's that need vision correction.
Fairway Metal:	The Fairway Metal combines classic metal styling in a lightweight, comfortable design. This design also features our Gradient lenses that provide golfers with the brightness control of a dark lens and the visual clarity of lighter lens. This versatile style allows you to walk off of the golf course and into boardroom without changing your sunglasses. This style is available in solid or gradient prescription lenses.
